Welcome
Our research shows that teachers can make a tremendous difference to the successful inclusion of children young people. This site includes descriptions of what teachers have done, ways they have worked together and issues they have faced. You will also find details of some of the tools they have used, and a series of posters and back-up materials to help in the facilitation of a collaborative process leading towards more inclusive teaching.
The site draws on information from two research projects funded under the ESRC’s Teaching and Learning Research Programme:
Prosiect Dysgu Cydradd: Facilitating teacher engagement in more inclusive practice. Information about the project and also downloadable versions of the research and development resources developed by the project including questionnaires, research activities and materials designed to support professional development and reflective action research activities in schools.
The Understanding and Developing Inclusive Practice in Schools Research Network which ran from 2000-2003 as part of the first phase of the ESRC Teaching and Learning Research Programme.
